Organic Soft Black Hair Colour Fortified with Henna + Amla

This organic hair colour is a blend of Henna and natural plant powders such as Amla, Indigo, and Black Tea. It helps cover grey hair and gives your strands a uniform soft black colour. Henna also deep conditions the strands and promotes overall scalp health. Natural leaf powders help prevent premature greying, hair fall and hair thinning.

This colour is best suited for hair with shades of grey, blonde, and all types of brown.

Please note that if your hair has been chemically treated or dyed previously, it may take up to 3-4 or more uses to achieve the desired colour. Be patient, you'll get there.

STEP 1:

Scoop out the required amount of colour mix into a non-metallic bowl. Take 50, 100, and 200 gm for Short, Medium, and Long hair respectively.

STEP 2:

Add boiling hot water to make a smooth yoghurt like paste. Mix well to avoid lumps. Allow the mixture to cool down till it's lukewarm.

STEP 3:

Apply the mixture on pre-washed hair with the help of gloves and brush applicator. Make sure to cover the roots and the entire lengths of your hair. Divide your hair in sections for better coverage.

The hair should be properly washed and dried before putting the hair colour. Avoid shampoo after colouring. Only rinse the hair under running water. At the most use a color-safe conditioner while rinsing. Use a color-safe shampoo at least after 48 hours and not later than 72 hours.

Perform a strand test on a small section of your hair if you're trying this organic hair color for the first time. It helps in determining the final result of the color as it may differ from person to person depending on the health of your hair.

Products are safe for use during pregnancy and nursing. However, if you are pregnant or nursing, it’s always recommended to check with your medical practitioner before introducing new products to your routine.

If you have switched to an all-natural/organic product for the first time, your skin may go under a detox before you start observing results. This detox period is commonly referred to as Skin Purge which results in a temporary acne flare-up.

The skin purge period varies from individual to individual and can last up to 4 to 6 weeks.

Should you continue using the product if your skin purges?

Yes, you can continue to use the product if it's skin purge and not an allergic reaction. Eventually, you'll notice the skin starts clearing out between the 4th to 6th week.

We would recommend consulting a dermatologist to check if it’s a skin purge or a reaction.

1. Colouring and Discolouring
This hair colour is made with 100% plant-based powders and therefore may have different effect from one individual to another. Therefore, a stand test is highly recommended to ascertain the effect of the colour on your hair.

If the hair shows a slight tone of blue after a strand test of Soft Black, then application of Natural Henna would help neutralise the colour. Similarly, if the hair shows a slight reddish or orange tone after a strand test of Dark Brown or Nut Brown, then application of Natural Indigo Henna would help neutralise it.

2. Transition Phase
It is possible that your hair may take sometime to adapt to the natural hair colour and you may not get the desired results in the first go. This is usually common for hair that have been chemically treated or dyed in the past. However, the resuts get better with each application as the hair starts to adapt to the natural colour.

3. Always use gloves
The organic henna powder in this hair colour can potentially stain your fingers while application. Therefore it is recommended to use gloves and brush to apply the colour. It is also advisable to use a cape sheet during application to avoid staining your clothes.

4. DO NOT shampoo for 48 hours
Natural colour takes upto 48 hours to develop completely. It is recommended to NOT use shampoo till then for best results.

The hair should be properly washed and dried before putting the hair colour.  First-time users should start with a color of a lighter shade like light brown or Nutbrown and then slowly graduate to dark brown and then black. We never advise any first-time user to straight away use a black color.Since every person's hair is unique, the color also reacts differently to different people's hair. It is not a chemical containing bleaches or ppd and ammonia, that just strips away the outer layer of the cuticle and coats it with the dye, no matter what the quality of the hair. High moisture content in air during monsoon is also a factor that reduces the pigment release from the natural powders.

How long the colour lasts?

This natural hair colour typically lasts for 4 to 6 weeks. However, this period may vary from individual to individual depending on the frequency of hair wash, hair structure and overall strand health.
